Francesca Reinisch, IBCLC

I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). From October 2013 to October 2014, I worked at a community health center on Chicago’s West side as a breastfeeding counselor and advocate for new mothers. Working with this community, I strengthened my belief that all mothers need and deserve access to quality breastfeeding support. Breastfeeding is a nourishing experience that all mothers and babies should have the opportunity to share with each other. I am honored to lend support to new families as they navigate through the natural yet sometimes challenging experience of breastfeeding.

When my milk hadn’t come in 6 days after delivering my little one, she was screaming because she was so hungry even with supplementing, and she’d lost 11% of her body weight. I was really upset. And then Francesca came into my house and almost magically made everything better! She packed so much helpful information and guidance into the session but did so in a way that was digestible and memorable. She was also very calm, encouraging, and non-judgmental which was exactly what this first time mom and first time baby needed. We were able to immediately stop using the nipple shield, wean off of the formula supplementation, and increase my supply by following her recommendations (or maybe more like interventions). She also provided guidance on pump settings, short cuts on cleaning pump parts, and pretty much every related topic you could imagine. I couldn’t be more thankful for her visit!
