I have worked with families with new and some not so new babies for almost thirty years. Though my own four fine sons are grown and starting families of their own, I feel like it was only yesterday that I lay awake and worried about how I was feeding my sweet baby. That strong desire to “feed the baby” had me reaching out for help with my fourth son, when I was so tired and sore that all I wanted to do was stop. At this point I had already breastfed my first three sons for at least one year, and I was already a lactation consultant. In the middle of the night, I was an exhausted mother with an inexperienced new “dance” partner and we were “stepping on each others toes.” I tearfully asked for help.

I am a registered nurse, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) with a MEd in Infant Development from Erikson University and above all, a mother and grandmother. My approach to families encompasses all aspects of my experiences and education to support their feeding decisions for the best outcome for baby, mom and the rest of the family.

Jane was referred to me by my pediatrician after a very stressful night of trying to feed my 3-day old son and not being able to get him to latch. Jane was so quick to respond to my call and was at my home within 24 hours helping me with all things breastfeeding related (and more!). I learned so much from Jane, who is a wealth of knowledge. She provided so much guidance and reassurance when I felt like I was at the end of my rope with breast feeding. Jane has continued to be readily available whenever I have a question or issue. It is so critical to have such great support as I navigate through this confusing and at times, difficult journey.
